E3 NO MORE

Sorry Gamers, but it looks like E3 (in its present form) is no more. All major exhibitors have effectively pulled their support from the show, prompting the majority of game publishers to also cancel plans for high-cost booths. Geez, take away the scantily clad Booth Boobie Babes and the whole damn thing implodes! More here.

So this is what it sounds like, when geeks cry.
That Video Game Detox Center in the Netherleands better expand their psych ward.

the last safe haven for geeks and nerds to cutivate, revel in gammiing, AND ACTUALLY be approached by super hot chicks not wanting a lap dance is gone. seriously.....this is what happens when the will of the FEW (people complaining about the booth babes) supercedes the will of the many.........did spock teach us nothing peole.
he who screams the loudest gets what he wants in todays country......

I thought video games were for kids, too, not just 20-35 yr olds? Or is E3 an adult event? I've never been.

I'm a 27 yr old woman game lover who stopped going to E3 a couple years back due to the "booth babes" element getting out of control, IMO. A little leg and boob here or there is fine, I'm no prude. But give me a break. It was getting to the point where I felt like I was in a strip joint. And having dozens of guys oodle at me as if I was one of the girls on display did not add to my enjoyment of the show. In the end, it alienates a large portion of the video game companies' audience, which is bad business.

Nice blog, BTW!
