RANCOR RIDERS

The top pic is from the upcoming STAR WARS UNLEASHED game and semi-toyline. It shows Jedi riding around on RANCORS. Where to begin.... if anything, I'd say SITH would be the ones to ride on Rancors. But then again, WHY???? Some ideas should be just that. But I give the concept guys credit for not giving the Rancors giant lightsabers.... you just know some chode pitched it.

why would a jedi ride a rancor... maybe their goal is to downgrade the status of jedi (who are near godlike) by creating dependancies on other beings...

There was one of those billions of books after Zahn's novels where they go to some planet, home of the rancors and ride around on them i think...
begins with a D.. Dathomir I think..
There were force witches riding them..

One of the reasons I stopped reading the expanded universe.. was expanding too fast, and fell prey to Lucasonian elements (the relating of all story elements to other parts of same/similar stories)..

cause I always wondered what the deathstar gunner's life was like before his big moment.

yes Jim you may use that term..

The Deathstar Gunner.... didn't Lucas say he was actually an adult Kitster, Lil Anakin's bratty friend on Tatooine, who married Beru's older sister, thereby becoming related to Anakin, so therefore he blew up his extended family's home planet? He had a kid who later became a Jedi, but fell to the Dark Side and married Chewbacca's niece, Hansacca, who was named after her "Uncle Han".

Kidding, but you can see him doing that.

I'll second what John Mayer said. Luke and other Jedi's ride them in one of the books. The planet sounds like "Dath-a-more" but I don't know how to spell it.

It's a planet where a lot of Amazon-type female semi-jedi's live and they are the ones that domesticated the rancors.

There were several books that took place on the planet and then its re-visited during the "the new jedi-order" series when the galaxy is invaded by aliens with organic technology.
