I thought this was the Igloo that was built for AOTC's ?! I don't think the original one existed as I seen a set visit years ago before the prequels that showed where it stood when they filmed Star Wars in the mid 70's !!!

As I've posted on SPAZOTRON'S page - This isn't the original igloo from Star Wars, it didn't exist when they filmed Attack of the Clones according to the John Knoll book 365 Days of Star Wars, it was rebuilt knew for that film, and they filmed a few scenes for the end of Revenge of the Sith at the same time. It also says in the Myth Making book that the igloo was built from scratch, only the impressions of where the crater edge and igloo stood were there !

These photo's taken pre AOTC's show what was actually left from the 70's location shoot !! A crater rim and that was it.

Thanks for the research hustle, Andrew.

Andrew forwarded this email from the site in question:
Andrew,

If you follow our threads on Facebook (‘Save the Lars Homestead’), you’ll see that we are aware of this (obviously, I have mentioned this is my books Trip to Tatooine and Tatooine Reunion). We want to make sure that this second igloo is preserved for life!

Thanks for your interest.

I also did an interview for the ForceCast (which will air next Wednesday) in which I make the very same statement.

So no worries, we are well aware that this is the 2001 igloo.

Kind regards,

But its not all a lost - I was able to promote Keef's blog!

I also now want to rewatch the ORIGINAL Star Wars (ANH) again.

I have no problem with a bunch of fans trying to save this, I just think it should clearly state that this ISN'T the original 1977 set, it should make this very clear on the main page so people donating aren't misled !
It was good of Mark to get back to me to explain that they know and have mentioned this, I think they just need to put the info in plain view.

As far as I'm concerned though, if it was up to me the props from the prequles should be placed in a concrete box and dropped to the bottom of the ocean !! :)
