GREEN LANTERN CONCEPT ART

Personally, I prefer all of the above to what was on screen.

Personally, I prefer hot pokers jabbed into my eyes than what was on screen.

awwwww, that's highly disappointing to hear, but not completely unexpected. i knew, being Green Lantern and all, that there'd be some cheese (especially after seeing clips of the "kentucky fried super villain"), but had hopes.

haven't seen it yet because overrated ANYTHING sucks, and i knew that VERY OVERRATED Green Lantern could totally suck.

which, according to you guys, indeed does suck. nice job, DC, just either stop while you're ahead (as evident by pulling the plug on Wonder Woman. again.), or keep pumping out Superman and Batman.

i'd like to see Aquaman, but they'd screw that up as well, i'm sure.

as it stands, i'd rather see Superman: Red Son or Batman Beyond on the big screen than pretty much anything else DC has in their playbook.

alas, curiosity will still make me see GL in 3D in the theater & it actually helps to have what little floundering expectations were still there killed beforehand. it might NOT suck to see it now! lol

its not TERRIBLE... it has its moments. The first half was quite enjoyable, I thought. If only the 2nd half was "GL: First Flight" (animated movie), it would have been leagues better. It's fun. I gave it a "C" rating... maybe "C+" depending on my mood. :)

It is kind of amazing how much better concept art Parallax looks than swarm of smoky yellow trailer clip Parallax appeared.

The Lantern outfits, I'm not sure... Just looking at them, they seem better than the energy vein design that was used, and the muted/darker greens make it look acceptably realistic, but on the other hand they *are* presumably supposed to be suits created through a neon green technology. Maybe the Lantern suit was always going to be a hard sell for "realism" (the realistic color of the concepts as well as the "alien" energy veins that were used), and they should have went for simple bright green? I don't know, maybe there wasn't really a design that would work well in a "realistic" movie?

Yep Jim, that´s right. I see it the same way.

To give the right people credit, the above concept art was made at the "Aaron Sims Studio" and the Artists are Tsvetomir Georgiev and Jerad S Marantz.

Jerad is a fellow blogger too and here you see more of his stunning concept art: http://jeradsmarantz.blogspot.com/

Tsvetomir is a stunning 3D sculptor, whom I admire allot and at the ZBrush software forum you can see even more and better GL concept art: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=141904

Sad that sometimes the passion and hard work of the artists in pre-production is simple thrown over board when it comes to shooting the final result.
